Global Partnerships Programme
Global Partnerships is a new initiative sponsored by the UK Government
to create partnerships between the world’s most innovative
technology-led organisations and their UK peers.
Increasingly, technological breakthroughs are created when businesses
work together and exchange knowledge; the UK’s world-class
reputation in science and technology ensures a central position
in the development of these networks.
The Global Partnerships programme provides a free service to:
- Ensure that innovative businesses can effectively make contact
with UK organisations involved in complementary activities. In
particular co-development of new technologies or products.
- Assist businesses to achieve successful alliances, reduce risk,
shorten time to market and set the foundation for expansion into
the European market.
- Assess the intended partnership and judge the level of value-added
for the UK, businesses seeking an agent/distributor will be ineligible.
Successful Global Partnerships:
- A Waterloo company is being assisted to find a UK Interactive
Web-based technology firm, for the joint development of advanced
interactive learning applications or technology licensing opportunities.
- A Toronto company is in discussions with several potential
UK partners regarding the possible licensing and marketing of
the company's two-way wireless data communications (M2M) technology.
- A Los Angeles company has formed a joint venture with a UK partner
sharing skills and knowledge on new engine management system design
for the motorsport industry.
The initiative takes the form of a bespoke report, which identifies
UK partners matching your requirements. Partner matches are conducted
through information collected by the UK Department of Trade and
Industry’s Global Watch Online portal.
